The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. This position is located at Craven Correctional Institution Vanceboro NC
Reporting directly to the Correctional Warden IV the Correctional Associate Warden of Operations is responsible for assisting the Warden in the total operation of the facility. Additionally this position has direct management and supervisory responsibility for the operation of several critical functions to include the general day-to-day and the 24-hour operation of the facility. Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of supervisory administrative or consultative experience in CORRECTIONS or related work; -OR-
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience at or above the Correctional Lieutenant level;
-OR-
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications
Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
