Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral (BVER) is a specialty animal hospital located in Portland Oregon. Our hospital team includes highly skilled veterinarians specializing in Emergency/Critical Care Internal Medicine Neurology Surgery Ophthalmology and are supported by dedicated technicians and support staff.

Who are we looking for right now

Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency & Referral is looking forexperienced an overnight Certified Veterinary Technician for our ICU department. We are currently seeking coverage for three 12-hour overnight shiftsfrom 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Minimum of 2years of ICUexperience required.

Essential Job Functions

Triage and assessment of cases - including alerting DVM of patients in critical conditions
Perform diagnostic tests and procedures
Administer medications and treatments as directed by DVM
Provide support and education to pet owners
Maintain accurate medical records

Required Skills

Valid certification as a veterinary technician in the state of Oregon (CVT)
Prior experience in an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure
Confident in life saving procedures such as CPR chest taps and urinary deobstruction
Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills advanced catheter and sampling line placement skills preferred
Assisting and monitoring of surgical and sedated procedures including management of unstable patients. Additional anesthesia training to be provided.
