The Central Guest Experience Director ensures a consistent excellent guest experience across all Mariners congregations (currently 11 growing by two campuses per year). This director-level role leads the central Guest Experience team coaching and developing campus coordinators building scalable systems and partnering across ministries to create a unified experience for all guests. A full-time position the schedule is Sunday - Thursday for a total of 40 hours per week. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards act.
This position is part of the Central Ministry Leadership Team providing strategic operational leadership while shaping a culture of excellence teamwork and intentional guest engagement churchwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Build and maintain scalable systems that support weekend services first-time guest follow-up and central Guest Experience operations. Oversee resource allocation to ensure congregations have the tools and staff needed to serve effectively.
- Staff Leadership & Development: Lead weekly and strategic meetings with GE staff members. Hire train and coach staff translating central training resources into context-specific guidance for each campus.
- Strategic Alignment & Collaboration: Partner with the Guest Experience Pastor and other ministry leaders to align strategy across all campuses. Serve as a conduit for communication between Central leadership and congregations.
- Culture & Team Building: Live out The Source Of Our Unity Gets The Spotlight through lateral leadership fostering collaboration excellence and a mission-focused culture.
- Campus Launch Support: Enable the launch of new congregations with streamlined operations staff training and hands-on guidance during key events.
- Weekend Oversight: Participate in a rotating weekend schedule across campuses to provide real-time support ensure strategy alignment and guide teams.
Qualifications :
- 35 years of experience in ministry leadership guest experience or operational roles ideally in a multi-site or large church context.
- Proven ability to build scale and maintain operational systems across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing staff including coaching and empowering leaders to achieve shared goals.
- Strong strategic and operational thinking with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with experience partnering across teams and ministries.
- Proficiency in Rock RMS or other database/relationship management systems preferred.
- Experience supporting new campus launches and scaling ministry operations is a plus.
Work Environment
- Travel to various congregations is required once a month at Irvine
- Flexible hours including weekend participation are necessary to meet the needs of campuses and staff.
- Active engagement in church-wide events and ministry initiatives is expected.
