Job Summary

The job of the Substitute Mechanic is done for the purpose/s of determining needed repairs and/or replacements on a vehicle; ensuring the availability of vehicles in safe operating condition; and providing written documentation of repairs to meet district state and federal requirements. A Mechanic reports directly to the Director Transportation.

Requirements / Qualifications

*For your applications to be considered please upload all required documents. Job Requirements - Qualifications: Education Required High School diploma or equivalent. use English in both written and verbal form Valid Class Drivers License Valid Class B License and evidence of insurability

Experience Required:
Prior related diagnostic experience involving both gas and diesel engines;
Skills Knowledge and/or Abilities Required: Skills to maintain gas and diesel engines operate hand and power tools.
Knowledge of repairs safe working methods and procedure accurate record keeping. Abilities to stand for prolonged periods inspect and repair buses. Significant physical abilities include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling stooping/crouching reaching/handling hearing conversations and other sounds (e.g. air leaks) near/far visual acuity/depth perception and accommodation.

Other Requirements: Criminal Justice Fingerprint Current TB Test. Licenses Certifications Bonding and/or Testing Required: Valid Class Drivers License Valid Class B License and evidence of insurability
