About the role
The Role

As a Driver in GAPs Plant & Tool Division youll be at the heart of our operations delivering essential equipment like diggers dumpers and power tools to construction utilities and infrastructure sites across the UK.
Youll load deliver and collect hire equipment safely and professionally often demonstrating kit on-site and ensuring all checks and paperwork are completed accurately. Whether youre navigating busy city streets or remote rural roads your role is key to keeping projects running smoothly.
What Youll be Doing
Delivering and collecting plant equipment to and from customer sites completing all paperwork accurately (including damage checks fuel levels and authorised signatures)
Starting machines on-site when requested and demonstrating equipment use where needed
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and safety
Safely loading and unloading equipment using correct strapping and securing methods
Tagging damaged machines on return and placing them in the correct depot area
Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle and supporting general depot duties
Following customer site Health & Safety rules and using digital tachographs in line with legislation
About You
What Youll Bring
Were looking for someone reliable safety-conscious and customer-focused including:
Proven experience in a driving role ideally delivering plant or tool equipment
Full UK driving licence (towing experience and Digi Tacho card are desirable)
Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
Strong attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately
A professional friendly approach when dealing with customers and colleagues
