Knowing alcohol pairing and tastes knowing how to make traditional and classy drinks processing payments managing inventory and cleaning bar supplies. Bartenders are in charge of managing drink orders at a restaurant pub hotel club or private event to keep customers satisfied during meals or social gatherings. They have extensive knowledge of common drinks which they use to recommend drinks to customers prepare cocktails pour beers and properly decant wines. Bartenders may also entertain customers who sit at the bar by providing stimulating conversation and excellent customer service while filling drink orders for other customers.
Verify the customers ages Mix traditional and creative cocktails Process payment Clean glasses and bar utensils Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences Record and balance cash receipts and prepare cash deposits Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails Understanding of unique and complementary flavor pairings Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and be responsive Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
Join the team at Hampton Inn & Suites - Dexter as a Bartender where you will create an inviting atmosphere for guests by providing excellent drink service and promoting a welcoming environment. You will be responsible for crafting drinks maintaining the bar area and ensuring guests have a memorable experience during their visit.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company standards and guest preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area including stocking supplies and cleaning glassware.
- Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner to ensure a positive experience.
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age of guests.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately.
- Collaborate with other staff members to provide seamless service.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a bartender or in a related hospitality role preferred.
- Knowledge of drink recipes and bartending techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with bartending.
- Must be at least the minimum legal drinking age and adhere to all laws regarding alcohol service.
