Job Summary

Overall Purpose of Job:

Sustainability project specialist will support the development and execution of ESG strategy of KOSTAL Group by identifying and driving sustainability projects managing establishing effective internal and external sustainability related communication to engage employees in day-to-day sustainability efforts to transform corporate sustainability goals to reality.

Reporting to the Global Head of Sustainability the Sustainability project specialist will work with the relevant internal stakeholder to establish Project plan / Roadmap and to drive the execution of Environment Social and Governance projects within the organization.

By developing strong connections with our global internal network Sustainability project specialist should be a key driver of KOSTAL Groups various ESG programs. 

Main tasks roles and responsibilities:

  • Develop a sustainability-related learning agenda and training materials for various stakeholders within the organization.
  • In close cooperation with the Global Head of Sustainability establish effective external and internal sustainability communication; define communication plans; collect and communicate sustainability activities achievements and success stories.
  • Establish a sustainability communication toolkit and materials to engage employees in day-to-day sustainability efforts and translate corporate sustainability goals into operational reality.
  • Collaborate in the identification and development of key sustainability programs and improvement activities in line with the global sustainability strategy.
  • Establish project plans and roadmaps with relevant internal stakeholders for the implementation of various ESG projects.
  • Drive the execution of project plans and work directly with internal stakeholders to build engagement and trust; develop training tools workshops and learning sessions to support project execution.
  • Track key metrics related to the implementation of the sustainability strategy and business goals to ensure transparency of value creation and progress for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver regular reports and analyses to the Global Head of Sustainability regarding risks and opportunities related to sustainability performance and programs.
  • Lead the development of the Groups annual ESG report ensuring clear accurate and stakeholder-aligned disclosure in line with applicable reporting frameworks (e.g. CSRD GRI UNGC).
  • Support and coordinate the internal ESG data collection and validation process collaborating with relevant data owners to ensure completeness accuracy and audit-readiness of sustainability information.
  • Manage develop and engage the KOSTAL Group Sustainability Champions community to strengthen local ownership foster knowledge exchange and drive implementation of sustainability initiatives across all sites.
  • Lead the global sustainability best business practice process including the identification assessment and cross-functional sharing of best practices to accelerate continuous improvement and harmonization of sustainability performance across the Group.

Qualifications :

Experiences and requirements:

  • College or University degree education with studies in sustainability communications related topics
  • 5 years of work experience (3 years on the field of sustainability)
  • Excellent MS office skills
  • Knowledge of project management tools is a plus
  • Fluent in English
  • German and other languages of KOSTAL locations are a plus.
  • Remote work with an occasional KBS office presence
