About thisRole

As aSenior Hardware DisciplineEngineerbased inChennaiyou will provide specialized technical support and solutions for project teamsoperationsand maintenance as aProcess Containment Equipment (PCE) Engineer understandingand implementingMost Effective Technology (MET) work processtoolsand industry best practices withinthe PCE Discipline.The Hardware Disciplines within Engineering and Maintenance arecomprisedof the following disciplines: Buildings Civil Electrical Instrument Materials Mechanical Process Containment Equipment and Piping. Hardware Disciplinesrequireexpanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broaden capabilitiestosupport both projects and technical support teams asanInspectorDiscipline Engineer orDiscipline Lead onsite executedsmallintermediateandlargecapitalprojects.

Responsibilities includebut are not limited to:

In theInspector and Discipline Engineercapacity:

  • PreparesMechanical Data Sheets& Material Requisitions(MR)Packages Bid/Offer evaluations Technical BidEvaluations(TBE) Purchase Requisitions(PR)and vendor document/drawings reviewsas per relevant codesstandardsandowner specifications.
  • Understands and implements Most Effective Technology (MET) work processtoolsand industry best practices withinProcess Containment Equipment (PCE) Discipline.
  • Coordinatesimplementation ofPCE design best practices.
  • Ensurescompliance with Dowstandardsmaximizing value for the businesses we serveand providing the lowest long-term cost tooperateand maintain.
  • Deliversvalue in design understandingand implementingSafety in Design and Process Safety concepts.
  • Assistsin project reviews and team checks asto ensure quality of deliverables.
  • Hasresponsibilityfor theappropriate levelof attendance at project meetingsincluding butnot limited tosite contractor visits.
  • Gatherslessons learned from projects andleveragesthese learningsintofuture projects and assignments.
  • Mentorsand Coachesnewengineersas.

In the Discipline Lead capacity:

  • Has accountability for project results and for the implementation of and adherence to all relevant work processes and best practices.
  • Leads the completion of deliverables provided to estimating and reviews output of the estimate to ensureaccuratereflection of scope.
  • Maintainsawareness of schedule milestones and challenges ofassignments andprojects.
  • RepresentsthePCE Discipline in meetings andmulti-disciplinediscussions.
  • Directs activities withinthe PCE Discipline and coordinates activities with otherprojectdisciplines.
  • EnsurePCE Disciplinedeliverables meet the needs of the project including functioning as intended on time and within budget.
  • Leads technical contract package development andsupportsimplementation.
  • Drives value engineering and economic designs to ensure the best value is delivered to the businesses we serve.
  • DrivesaNo change mentalityculture within the project team and discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorsormasters degree in mechanical engineeringwith8-12years of relevant experience.

  • Well-experienced in Design & Detailed Engineering of various Static Equipmentlike:Pressure Vessels Columns/Towers Storage Tanks Silos Reactors S&T Heat Exchangers and Filtersetc.for Petrochemicals and Refineries.

  • Detailed exposure tointernationalcodes/standards such as ASME Sec VIII Div 1 & 2 ASME SEC II ASTM API 650 API620and TEMA.

  • Functionaland practicalexposure toDesign by Rules (ASME Sec VIII Div2 Part 4)Design byAnalysis(ASME Sec VIII Div2 Part5) andFatigue Analysis(ASME Sec VIII Div2 Part 5)of Pressure Vessels.

YouSkills

  • Familiar in designing static equipment using international software such as: PV Elite Compress andAMETanketc.

  • Demonstrated problem management and issue resolution skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (Written and Verbal) isa must. Frequent communication is expected with Equipment Suppliers / Vendors inter-discipline teammembersand other engineering centers.

  • Strong organizational interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills.Essentially ateam player with flexibility and agility.
