Job Summary

The Senior Technical Program Manager Tooling and Automation owns the strategy and end-to-end program management for the tools data systems and workflow automations that enable predictable scalable delivery of Fleets data center campuses and customer deployments in North America.


They are a key member of a multi-disciplined team of engineers data professionals and technical program managers that plan build and operate the digital backbone for Fleets campus planning construction commissioning and customer turn-up processes. They partner closely with data center engineering construction and commissioning network and server deployment teams procurement and supply chain legal and finance to design and deliver internal tools that improve schedule fidelity risk management financial accuracy and operational efficiency.


The Sr. TPM is responsible for defining the multi-year tooling and automation roadmap translating ambiguous business and technical needs into clear requirements and driving cross-functional programs from concept through launch and adoption. They are accountable for measurable improvements in how Fleet plans executes and monitors its data center campus portfolio and customer infrastructure deployments.


The Technical Program Manager Tooling and Automation reports to the Director of Data Center Planning and Delivery Fleet Data Centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the tooling and automation roadmap that supports data center campus planning construction commissioning and customer network/server deployment workflows aligned with Fleets growth objectives and customer commitments.
  • Develop end-to-end multi-phase program plans and schedules for tooling and automation initiatives aligning stakeholder needs and delivery dates upstream data sources system integrations and change-management milestones. You are responsible for on-time and on-budget delivery of high-impact internal tools and automation capabilities.
  • Translate ambiguous operational and business problems into clear technical requirements including data models integrations user journeys and reporting needs partnering closely with software engineering data engineering product and operations teams.
  • Design and implement mechanisms and dashboards that provide single-source-of-truth visibility into campus delivery capacity financials and risk reliably catching and escalating delays rework and other risks to meeting customer commitments.
  • Establish and champion standards for data quality telemetry and observability across tools and workflows ensuring that program and portfolio decisions are made on high-quality timely data.
  • Coordinate track and drive execution of cross-functional teams (internal and external) delivering new tools and automations including requirements design development testing deployment documentation and training.
  • Own change management and user adoption including communication plans training materials stakeholder onboarding feedback loops and iterative improvements that drive sustained use and measurable impact.
  • Drive integration of internal tools with upstream and downstream systems (e.g. ERP project management commissioning procurement and vendor systems) reducing manual handoffs and eliminating redundant data entry.
  • Collaborate and innovate on data center delivery tooling and processes piloting new technologies and approaches that improve delivery reliability quality sustainability and efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Develop mechanisms to measure report and improve key metrics (e.g. forecast accuracy schedule variance cycle time manual effort elimination error rates) and regularly communicate status and insights to leadership.
  • Partner with procurement and vendor management to evaluate select and manage external software and services (e.g. SaaS platforms analytics tools workflow engines) including RFPs proposals and contracts where applicable.
  • Support capital allocation and business-case development for tooling and automation investments including ROI analysis operating model changes and TCO impacts in partnership with finance and leadership.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and runbooks for key tools data flows and automations ensuring continuity resilience and scalability as Fleet grows.

Qualifications

  • 1015 years of increasing scope and responsibility in technical program management product management or engineering leadership including significant ownership of internal tools data platforms or workflow automation for large-scale infrastructure cloud manufacturing or similar complex environments.
  • Demonstrable results delivering large cross-functional tooling or automation programs on time and within budget with clear quantified improvements in schedule reliability operational efficiency or risk reduction.
  • Experience leading programs that span both physical infrastructure and digital systems ideally including planning construction commissioning and/or operations of critical facilities infrastructure (e.g. data centers power industrial facilities).
  • Proven ability to build optimize and scale capacity planning project planning budgeting and tracking tools and processes including portfolio-level visibility and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of data models APIs integrations and analytics; able to engage deeply with engineering and data teams and make informed trade-offs between build buy and integrate options.
  • Experience with sourcing contract negotiation and supplier relationship management for software platforms and consulting services within technology or infrastructure organizations.
  • Strong leadership communication and stakeholder-management skills including the ability to influence senior engineering and business leaders and to drive alignment across organizations with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work backward from customers and internal users converting qualitative feedback and quantitative data into clear roadmaps and prioritized backlogs.
  • Experience with enterprise project/portfolio management tools workflow automation platforms and analytics/BI tools (e.g. Jira Asana ServiceNow Power BI Tableau Looker etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of data architecture security compliance and interoperability considerations.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Computer Science Information Systems Finance or another technical or quantitative discipline; an advanced degree is a plus. Telecommunications Engineering or Operations experience is a plus
  • Understanding of ERP CRM and OSS systems preferred; Salesforce experience is a plus

  • Leadership and Team Enablement: Inspire and guide cross-functional working groups to achieve objectives enhance performance and foster a collaborative environment where issues are surfaced early and addressed constructively.

Expected Salary Range:

$180000 - $225000 Salary Bonus
