Description of Work
This position is located in the Psychology Services Department.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
*A Sign-on bonus of $15000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.*
Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
The Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Demonstrated knowledge and application of psychological principles theories methods and procedures especially in the area of intellectual disabilities/developmental disabilities.
Knowledge of behavioral assessment and interventions for individuals who have severe behavior disorders.
Knowledge of teaching and maintaining adaptive skills.
Knowledge application and evaluation of psychological testing.
Knowledge of effective staff training and management strategies and ability to relate appropriately to clients and staff members.
Necessary Special Qualifications:A Masters or Doctoral Degree in Psychology from an accredited institution. Be eligible for and subsequently fulfill all requirements for licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Psychological Associate or Licensed Psychologist under provisions specified by the Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270). Persons who have completed the Masters or Doctoral Degree and are license eligible but who have not been licensed may be considered for this position as a trainee.
This Position Is Exempt And Is EXEMPT From Certain Provisions Of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126)
This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

Scheduled work hours: 8:00 AM 5:00PM Monday Friday. Flexibility is required to meet facility needs.
*Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus*
To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government including the judicial system or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
