DESCRIPTION:
Youll be part of an innovative team advancing our mission to make the world healthier cleaner and safer. As an EHS Specialist III youll provide expert guidance and leadership in environmental health safety and sustainability programs across the organization. Youll collaborate with teams at all levels to develop and implement comprehensive EHS management systems drive continuous improvement initiatives and create a strong safety-focused culture. This role combines strategic thinking with practical problem-solving to protect our employees environment and facilities while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Position Summary:

The EHS advisor will work closely with the EHS Manager to manage day to day aspects of Fisher Clinical Services sites EHS compliance such activity as control of inspections and audits of the company assets procedures and infrastructure. These activities will be carried out in accordance with all current statutory regulatory and company safety and quality standards and associated or subscribed standards including ISO14001 and ISO45001.

The EHS advisor will undertake such activity as relevant to the role and maintenance of company objectives to include such activity as training management and control of day to day aspect of EHS programs. Other important aspects of the position include liaising with internal customers and departments to improve EHS performance indicators.

The EHS Advisor will be responsible for ensuring that current and future changes to the Health Safety and Environment management system is supported and maintained using PSG and CTD current EHS and GMP procedures. On a day to day basis this will be achieved through a series of proactive and reactive controls designed to ensure compliance to EHS legal responsibilities and further develop an EHS learning culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert subject matter support on environment health and safety (EHS) related issues;
  • Provide advice and guidance on EHS issues;
  • Monitor site EHS performance reporting at local and divisional level.
  • Assist in achieving Continual Process Improvement on Site and other Thermo Fisher locations as required;
  • Management of site EHS documentation and recording systems;
  • Audit Departments/Contractors;
  • Manage and co-ordinate the Risk Assessment Programme;
  • Support the Occupational Health Programme;
  • Co-ordinate site EHS Training.

  • Quality: To implement maintain and advise on EHS matters related to customers within CTD. This will be in accordance with statutory regulatory and company standards procedures and systems that are relevant to cGMP Systems in the workplace which may have an EHS related element. Complete investigation reports corrective actions change controls risk assessments and EHS procedures relevant to the cGMP environment.
  • Customer Allegiance: To ensure the availability and reliability/accuracy of all facility reports in order that they can achieve the plans to satisfy customer requirements. This will be achieved through continued monitoring and updating of the FCSMS (Fisher Clinical Services management System).
  • Improvement & Efficiency: To lead participate and contribute to Practical Process Improvement (PPI) projects that deliver business EHS objectives in a cost-effective manner.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • NEBSOH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
  • Relevant Pharmaceutical/cGMP Industry Environmental Health and Safety experience or equivalent;
  • Previous experience in an EHS role;
  • Knowledge of EHS legislation;
  • Experience in dealing with Local and Regulatory Authorities;
  • Excellent presentational & motivational skills;
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and is an effective communicator;
