Job Description
Role Overview
Seeking an experiencedAPIGatewayEngineer with strong expertise inKongto design implement and manage ourAPIinfrastructure. Must be proficient inLuascripting with additional skills inGoorJavaScript.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain KongAPIGatewayin non-production environments.
- Configure and manage KongServicesandRoutesforAPItraffic management.
- Implement and configurestandard Kong plugins(authentication rate limiting logging transformations)
- Integrate Kong with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms.
- Automate Kong deployments using IaC (Terraform Ansible)
- Develop custom Kong plugins usingLuascripting(added advantage)
Required Skills
Kong Expertise
- 3 yearshands-on experience with KongAPIGateway
- Hands-on in Kong Services & Routesconfiguration along with standard Kong plugins:
- Kong AdminAPIand declarative configuration (deck)
Scripting & Programming
- Lua(primary)
- GoorJavaScript(secondary)
- Shell scripting (Bash/Python)
- Understanding of Kong PDK(for custom plugins)
Infrastructure & Tools
- CI/CD tools
- Cloud platforms (GCP/AWS)
- Monitoring tools (Prometheus Grafana OpenSearch)
