Job Summary
Resident Care is our largest department with over 70 full part-time andcasual staff caring for 57 residents in AVEN Manor and the TerritorialDementia Facility. The Resident Care Aide is integral to ensuring that everyResident has a great day every day. If you are someone who not only possessesthe below qualifications knowledge skills and abilities but also hascompassion and empathy for your elders and is a kind individual who putsothers needs first this may be a great potential opportunity for you! This isa permanent part-time position.
Qualifications/Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Completion of a HealthCare Aide or a Long Term Care Aide Program from a recognized educationalinstitution and have two years experience in a long term care will be considered. The successful incumbent must have completed Pharmacology for Personal Support Workers (or itsequivalent)and be qualified to administer medication. Experience working with an elderly population would be an asset. Anacceptable criminal records check is required and must be maintained.
Knowledgeof the aging process
Knowledgeof long term personal care care for elderly persons and persons with dementia
Problemsolving skills
Verygood interpersonal skills including compassion and understanding for residents
Verygood listening skills
Abilityto work well as a team

Pay and Benefits
SALARY: $36.40-41.27 perhour
VACATION& SICK LEAVE: paid hours
