As a part of the healthcare team the RN I-Admission/Discharge assumes primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized for patients of all ages. Utilizes delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team oriented collaborated approach to patient care. Assists in facilitation of the admission transfer and discharge processes.
Interacts with patients families visitors and all members of the health care team to initiate plan of care. Must be able to work independently. Demonstrates leadership abilities along with mature judgment initiative and proficiency in nursing skills. Must demonstrate positive leadership role-modeling critical thinking and problem resolution skills. Assess data reflective of the patients status. Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age specific needs and provides care according to department policies and procedures
Education: Graduate of school of professional nursing of an accredited college. BSN preferred.
Experience: I year acute care experience required.
Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia required.
Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required.
Other: Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service skills; must demonstrate positive leadership role modeling and problem resolution skills. Knowledgeable of basic computer and phone applications. Must successfully complete orientation and maintain requirements. Position requires lifting and long periods of standing bending pushing pulling reaching walking etc. May be exposed to infectious diseases biohazard and hazardous materials including regulated wastes and combative patients.
