Description of Work
The Julian F. Keith Alcohol & Drug Abuse Treatment Center (JFK ADATC) is currently accepting applications for a Health Care Technician I/Admissions.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Recruitment Range: $31200.00 - $44621.00
*A Sign-On Bonus of $2000.00 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.

*ELIGIBILITY FOR SIGN-ON BONUS
To qualify for the Sign-On Bonus a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a pro-rated rate.
An employee is not eligible for a Sign-On Bonus if:
All Sign-On Bonuses are contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.

ABOUT THE FACILITY:
JFK ADATC is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of adults with substance use disorders from the 44 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats individuals with substance abuse and psychiatric diagnoses. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.

DHHS uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions with the most qualified individuals. Hiring salary will be based on relevant qualifications internal equity and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position.
Positions in the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities are subject to pre-employment drug testing and criminal record background checks. The primary responsibilities of the Healthcare Technician I/Admissions are to:
This posting is for a 12-hour day shift every other weekend and some holidays.
This position works 12-hour days (6:45 am - 7:15 pm) some holidays weekends and overtime; flexibility required.
Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development diploma;

an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Condition(s) for Continued Employment
As required listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
As applicable listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
As applicable North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
