Field Technical Analyst (TFA) Exhaust Ductwork SCR & HRSG Systems
Contract / On-Demand Field Support
Work Location: U.S.-Based Travel (Gulf Coast candidates strongly preferred)
Assignment Length: Project-based typically 812 weeks
Pay Range: $70$90/hr (dependent on background)

Position Overview
We are seeking seasoned field professionals to provide short-term technical support on active industrial and power generation sites across the U.S. These Field Technical Specialists are deployed during critical phases of construction outage installation and startup to deliver immediate practical technical guidance related to exhaust systems ducting SCR equipment and HRSG components.
This role is designed for individuals who are comfortable stepping into fast-paced site environments making informed technical decisions and supporting project teams with minimal onboarding. Assignments are short in duration but high in impact.
Key Duties
Function as the primary technical resource on site for exhaust ductwork SCR and HRSG-related systems
Provide hands-on support during installation erection fit-up and mechanical completion activities
Review and interpret engineering documents including drawings P&IDs vendor data and installation instructions
Conduct field inspections to confirm proper alignment support configuration clearances expansion allowances and overall constructability
Identify field issues conflicts or deviations and recommend corrective actions that align with design intent and industry standards
Support commissioning startup and pre-operational readiness activities
Assist in diagnosing system issues such as vibration thermal movement flow restrictions or structural concerns
Collaborate closely with construction crews inspectors subcontractors and engineering teams to resolve technical questions on site
Capture field observations recommendations and resolutions through daily reporting or site documentation
Additional Support Activities
Provide supplemental field coverage during outages shutdowns or peak workload periods
Assist with quality verification efforts including material checks welding compliance and installation practices
Support resolution of RFIs and field-driven engineering clarifications
Participate in inspection activities for liners expansion joints dampers silencers and associated equipment
Ensure work aligns with site safety policies and applicable codes and standards (ASME AWS ASTM etc.)
Required Background
Significant hands-on experience with industrial exhaust systems ducting SCR equipment and/or HRSGs
Strong field exposure in construction commissioning maintenance or outage environments
Proven ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in the field
Comfortable traveling nationwide on short notice
Preferred Profile
15 years of relevant field or technical experience
Prior roles such as Field Engineer Construction Specialist Commissioning Engineer or similar
Experience supporting power generation combined-cycle industrial or energy infrastructure projects
Retired or semi-retired professionals seeking project-based field assignments are welcome
