7:00 AM 3:30 PM or
9:00 AM 5:30 PM
On-Call Requirement: Extensive call required including rotating weekends and holidays
Pay Rate: $62/hour
Position Overview
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment. The Surgical Technologist will provide comprehensive scrub support across multiple surgical specialties while maintaining the highest standards of sterility patient safety and surgical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and set up operating rooms with surgical instruments equipment sterile supplies and solutions
Maintain strict sterile technique in compliance with hospital policies and AORN standards
Perform scrub technician duties across all surgical services and specialties
Pass instruments sutures retractors and supplies during surgical procedures
Assist with sponge needle and instrument counts
Prepare label and handle surgical specimens per protocol
Assist with patient positioning transport and transfers
Assemble inspect and operate sterile and non-sterile surgical equipment
Support sterilization processes and proper handling of specialized instruments
Assist with surgical dressings room turnover and restocking between cases
Collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to ensure case readiness based on preference cards
Participate in staff meetings training and continuing education
Support orientation and training of new operating room staff as assigned
Maintain patient privacy dignity and safety at all times
Required Qualifications
Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Operating Room Technician program (civilian or military)
Current Surgical Technologist certification from a nationally accredited certifying body recognized by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST)
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
