Accountabilities:

Strategy Development: Define and deliver a Logistics Decision Intelligence strategy aligned to enterprise goals and the supply chain transformation roadmap moving from early wins to sustained value creation across the network.

Logistics Intelligence Governance: Lead logistics technical governance set global standards and represent logistics in enterprise forums to ensure data analytics and digital solutions are consistent secure and scalable.

Collaboration: Co-create solutions with internal and external partners from needs discovery through adoption ensuring analytics-led initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes.

Team Leadership: Assemble and lead diverse global teams of analysts data scientists and domain experts; build a culture of innovation continuous improvement and disciplined delivery across a matrix organisation.

Data Integrity: Establish logistics data domains and integrity requirements that enable reliable visibility analytics and decision support across systems and partners.

Advanced Analytics: Direct the development and deployment of models simulations and AI/ML for network optimisation risk assessment and performance monitoring; translate findings into operational decisions.

Digital Transformation: Champion control towers dashboards and predictive tools to embed data-driven decision making across global logistics operations.

KPIs and Reporting: Define strategic critical metrics and business intelligence dashboards to track service cost sustainability and resilience creating a single source of truth for the organisation.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and scale opportunities to improve efficiency quality agility and customer experience demonstrating Lean methods to standardise and sustain gains.

Risk Management: Build scenario analyses and decision-support tools to anticipate disruptions mitigate risk and accelerate response.

Logistics Applications: Oversee the technical development and value realisation of logistics applications such as TMS P44 Validate and CCIS ensuring they are robust compliant and integrated.

Ethical Conduct and Compliance: Lead by example on things we value Code of Conduct and policies; ensure timely training transparent reporting and a speak-up culture.

Manager Accountabilities: Drive performance management talent development recruitment fiscal stewardship and SHE responsibilities to build a high-performing trusted team.

Quality and GxP Stewardship: For GxP areas ensure understanding of legal and regulatory requirements and provision of appropriate resources to maintain and improve the Quality system.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Strategy Development: Lead the design and execution of Logistics Decision Intelligence strategies aligned with AZs business objectives and supply chain transformation roadmap.
  • Logistics Intelligence Governance: Lead Logistics technical governance and represent Logistics in associated technical governance forums; develop and promote global standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal and external partners to identify business needs co-create solutions and encourage the use of insights-based logistics initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Assemble and lead diverse global teams of analysts data scientists and logistics domain experts across a matrix organisation; foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Data Integrity: Establish logistics data domains and establish data integrity requirement to enable visibility analytics and decision support.
  • Advanced Analytics: Oversee the development and deployment of advanced analytics models simulation tools AI/ML algorithms for logistics network optimization risk assessment and performance monitoring.
  • Digital Transformation: Champion the integration of digital tools (control towers dashboards predictive analytics) to enable data-driven decision making across global logistics operations.
  • KPIs and Reporting: Establish strategic KPIs and business intelligence dashboards to monitor service levels cost sustainability and operational resilience.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve efficiency cost quality agility and customer experience.
  • Risk Management: Develop scenario analyses and decision support tools to strengthen logistics risk identification mitigation and response.
  • Logistics Applications: Handle the technical development and maintenance of logistics handled applications such as TMS P44 Validated CCIS (temperature management); harness value from these digital logistics applications.
  • Conduct activities and interactions consistent with Things we value and in compliance with the Code of Conduct and supporting Policies and Standards relevant to your role. Complete all required training on the AZ Code of Conduct and supporting Policies and Standards on time. Report potential issues of non-compliance.
  • Ensure and monitor compliance by team members and third parties by (a) positively reinforcing the Code of Conduct and all relevant AstraZeneca Policies and Standards (b) ensuring completion of all required training (c) fostering a culture of openness in which employees are comfortable raising questions or concerns and (d) immediately addressing and reporting as appropriate instances of non-compliance.

  • Leaders with accountability for GXP areas are expected to understand the legal and regulatory requirements of their roles in providing appropriate resources (which could be human financial material facilities and equipment) to maintain the Quality system and continually improve its effectiveness.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Track record applying Lean methods to standardise ways of working and sustain improvement across global logistics
  • Experience leading decision intelligence or control tower capabilities in a complex multi-tier network
  • Hands-on familiarity with TMS P44 Validate CCIS temperature-controlled logistics and cold chain guidelines
  • Expertise with AI/ML simulation and optimisation tools for supply chain and logistics use cases
  • Proficiency with modern data and analytics platforms and visualisation tools to build scalable dashboards and critical metric frameworks
  • Background in life sciences healthcare or other regulated industries with an understanding of GxP in logistics
  • Strong collaborator management and vendor partnership skills across a matrix environment
  • Validated ability to build coach and develop diverse high-performing analytics and operations teams
