Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Rochester NY 14621
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift 312-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM)
Orientation: 16 Hours (Non-Billable)
Pay Rate: $42 $52 per hour
Position Overview
A large acute care hospital in Rochester NY is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit. This assignment is ideal for nurses with strong cardiac monitoring skills who thrive in a fast-paced inpatient environment and deliver high-quality patient-centered care.
Qualifications
Active New York State RN license (single-state; compact license not accepted)
BLS certification required
Minimum experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry with cardiac monitoring
EPIC EMR experience required
Strong communication critical thinking and teamwork skills
First-time travelers welcome
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Schedule Requirements
Every other weekend required
Availability to work every other holiday as needed
All scheduling and RTO requests must be submitted at time of submission
Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without penalty
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients
Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize/manage dysrhythmias
Respond to emergency situations utilizing Rapid Response and Code protocols
Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airways
Perform IV therapy phlebotomy and peripheral line care
Maintain infection control isolation precautions and patient safety standards
Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
Float to other units within scope of practice as required
