This role is ideal for a technician with strong mechanical and diagnostic skills capable of performing both routine maintenance and complex repairs. Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance diagnostics and repairs on heavyduty trucks light vans and commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair major mechanical and hydraulic systems including engines transmissions suspension brakes drivetrain steering and electrical systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections identify potential issues and provide accurate diagnoses before repairs.
- Use diagnostic tools computerized scan equipment hand and power tools to troubleshoot problems.
- Perform preventive maintenance including fluid changes filter replacements lubrication tire checks/rotations and safety inspections.
- Conduct roadtests or equipment operation tests to confirm repairs and ensure proper function before return to service.
- Maintain accurate work orders service logs repair records and documentation.
- Collaborate with parts department or supply chain to order and track required parts and materials.
- Keep work area clean organized and compliant with all safety environmental and industry regulations.
- Assist fellow technicians or apprentices if required and contribute to a teamworkoriented shop culture.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience working on heavyduty trucks or commercial vehicles in a shop or fleet environment (or equivalent vocational/technical education in diesel/truck mechanics).
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills across engine hydraulic transmission brake suspension and electrical systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment read schematics/blueprints and interpret technical repair manuals.
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts (up to 75lbs or more) stand for extended periods and work under shop conditions.
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record. CDL or heavyduty endorsement is a plus (if role includes roadtesting or transportation duties).
- Strong work ethic good communication skills reliability and attention to detail.
