    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. High School Diploma or equivalent
    2. Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
    3. Experience in financial data accounting and grant writing/management preferred
    4. Working knowledge of analyzing financial data and working within various financial software and programs and ability to interpret and apply complex regulations
    5. Experience in related area equivalent combination of experience education and/or training that demonstrates desired knowledge skills and abilities
    6. Working knowledge of computer word-processing and Microsoft Office applications and Google.
    7. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    1. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
    2. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    3. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
    4. Ability to complete computational tasks.

    6. Ability to analyze financial data utilize EXCEL and various software programs.

    9. Ability to operate computer equipment for email communications database and financial software programs word processing data management and other assigned tasks as related to the position.

    11. Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff students parents and community members.
    12. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    13. Ability to understand and maintain students and parents rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students.
    14. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    15. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies including mandatory reporting procedures.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Prepare grant applications for all Exceptional Student Services (ESS) department-related federal state and local projects authorized by the Superintendent ensuring fund allocations are correctly documented.
    2. Conduct research and gather data for state and federal grants.
    3. Collaborate with all stakeholders and the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) to ensure ESS grants are submitted accurately and with fidelity.
    4. Prepare ESS grant budget revisions with appropriate coding narrative and completeness as required.
    5. Stay current on new or changing federal or state grant programs and ADE regulations as they relate to department grants.
    6. Monitor fiscal documentation between software systems and program reports.
    7. Complete all quarterly and annual Medicaid financial reports for both direct and administrative claims within required timelines and aligned with all process and regulations.
    8. Collaborate with the ESS Department to ensure financial Medicaid reporting requirements are completed.
    9. Work with state Medicaid agencies to ensure compliance with federal and state Medicaid financial reporting and regulations.
    10. Maintain current working knowledge of state Medicaid rules billing requirements documentation and allowable services.
    11. Maintain internal procedure manuals documentation checklists or guidelines as necessary. Update training materials as needed.
    12. Work closely with local state and federal auditors to provide all applicable materials.
    13. Maintain all required documentation and records as aligned with Medicaid financial regulations and retention.
    14. Complete other financial business office duties as needed.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to reach with hands and arms sit stand walk stoop and bend as necessary. The employee maylift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens and use the telephone.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoor office environment. This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have substantial contact with staff and the public.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
    The Grants & Medicaid Specialist reports to the Business Manager. The Grants & Medicaid Specialist will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN: Starting at $16.85 hourly
    WORK YEAR:12 Months/8 hours per day
