POSITION TITLE: School Bus Driver
FLSA:Non Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or G.E.D. required; five years experience preferred
CDL license required
- 1 years experience driving a school bus (training provided for the right candidate)
No at-fault traffic accidents in the last 5 years
Clean driving record (no traffic citations in last 5 years)
Ability to carry out assigned route on time
Excellent communication skills
2 years working with children preferred
REPORTS TO:Maintenance Supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month employment (261 days). Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education. Benefits according to the Classified Agreement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Transport children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons
- Obey all traffic laws
- Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route
Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus at all times
Ensure safety of all students
Discipline children when required to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Assist students with getting on and off the bus when required
Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle on a daily basis.
Work overtime as directed.
Attend meetings as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
