Job Summary

Job Description:

The College of Business and Technology (CBT) consists of the Division of Business and Government (DBG) and the Division of Technology. The faculty and staff at DBG serve undergraduate majors in Accounting Apparel Design and Merchandising Business Administration Economics Political Science and Politics Philosophy and Economics (an interdisciplinary program) as well as a masters degree in Data Analytics in Business (MS; STEM) and Graduate Certificates. The division is committed to providing a high-quality education through the lens of Christian faith and values and is distinguished by its emphasis on applied learning. It was the first within the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities membership to achieve secondary accreditation with the AACSB (in 2000) and successfully maintained accreditation in 2025. In addition the College of Business and Technology was the first adopter within the Northwest Region of the UNs Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and is a PRME Champion School. Beyond such quality indicators the faculty and staff within the division are a supportive community marked by collaborative teaching scholarship and service.

The College of Business and Technology seeks a full time non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Accounting position available September 1 2026 with the potential to convert to tenure-track in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach regular nine-month load of about 35 quarter credits includes undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting (summer teaching possible).

  • Ongoing scholarly research and publication.

  • Advise undergraduates.

  • Collaborate with the Accounting faculty and the rest the CBT faculty and staff.

  • Contribute service within the department university and professional organizations

Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification and relevant experience.

  • Emphasis in managerial accounting.

  • Ability to teach one or more of the following courses: Accounting Information Systems Federal Income Taxation and Auditing.

  • Experience in working with diverse populations and/or addressing issues of equity.

Compensation and Benefits

Assistant professor starting salary: $ 125000. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications experience and assigned rank

Faculty salaries at Seattle Pacific University are based on nationally-normed regionally-adjusted and discipline-specific data from the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). Specific salary offers will be determined by level of education and years of relevant experience.

All full-time positions at SPU include a generous benefits package. SPU pays employee premiums for medical dental and vision insurance.
