1 SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Service Adviser is the liaison between customers and the repair technicians. The Service Writer will assist the Service Manager as necessary in the day to day management of the service department. The service writer must conduct themselves in the presence of customers in a manner that promotes a positive image of the company.
2 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answer incoming phone calls greet walk-in Service Department customers in a timely and friendly manner and maintain healthy relationships with our customer base
Schedule service appointments
Prepare open maintain and close repair orders
Write up customers vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair order
Assist in coordinating the work flow of the shop
Refer to service history inspect vehicle and recommend additional services needed
Provide customer a complete and accurate written quote for repair
Update customer of any changes in quote and or time line for repair; obtains pre-approval prior to continuing work
Coordinate the day to day schedule of the shop
Explain work and all charges to customer
Obtain customer signature on write-up sheets repair orders and estimates
Ensure that all information for warranty and policy claims is recorded on the repair order.
Adhere to company policy regarding collection of funds and release of vehicles
All other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
ADP/CDK business system experience
At least 1 year experience in the repair of heavy duty truck and /or major components
Computer skills.
Communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Dependability.
3 ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to our Truck Service Manager. Able to support all other departments as needed to support our customers experience and meeting their expectations.
