As an Associate Scientist II at Baxter your work contributes directly to making a significant impact on others. Its challenging workand youre not on your own. Whether guiding a team through a project or managing direct reports our research and development team is responsible for influencing others to achieve results.

Your Team

While everyone at Baxter has a shared passion for our mission the R&D teams play a critical role in our ability to save and sustain lives. Scientists and engineers in R&D work together to develop test and launch products that enhance patient care.

What youll be doing:

• Conduct critical chemical and physical analyses on finished product R&D stability samples and support testing of raw materials and other R&D initiatives. Work under minimum supervision to ensure flawless results.

• Act as a study director for studies independently evaluating results and determining their impact on studies and laboratory operations.

• Provide training and supervision to junior members within the laboratory offering advice and assistance on complex problems.

• Review test data meticulously perform documentation reviews in LIMS and other computerized systems.

• Apply sophisticated laboratory instrumentation and computer systems for data collection and recording.

• Participate in validations and transfers ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Perform detailed chemical assays applying advanced analytical skills and a deep understanding of chemistry principles.

• Complete all testing including special project/protocol testing in a timely manner to meet ambitious project schedules.

• Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs FDA regulations and other quality standards.

• Collaborate with various departments to solve problems boost efficiency improve quality and provide outstanding product support.

• Support project teams leading initiatives and making critical decisions to drive success.

• Influence program project and functional leadership proposing and driving solutions to complex technical challenges.

• Maintain laboratory safety standards perform equipment maintenance/calibration and troubleshoot sophisticated instrumentation.

What youll bring:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific field (e.g. chemistry pharmaceutical sciences) with at least 2 years of proven experience.

• Experience working with analytical chemistry instruments such as HPLC pH meters UV spectroscopy titrations particle analysis TOC flame photometry and sample extraction techniques. Familiarity with GC and LC-MS is an advantage.

• Proficiency in a regulated environment and strong technical problem-solving skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills strong analytical abilities and keen attention to detail.

• Experience with Electronic Lab Notebooks and pharmaceutical GMP laboratories is preferred.

• Experience with Empower software is advantageous.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and efficiently.

• Strong laboratory/technical writing and computer skills.

• Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate complex information with managers and peers.

At Baxter we are committed to equitable pay for all employees and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80000- $120000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location skills and expertise experience and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
