Description of Work
The Assistive Technologist is responsible for providing technical support and consultation related to assistive technology for individuals with disabilities professionals and community partners. This position plays a key role in helping consumers families schools employers and agencies identify and access technology solutions that promote independence accessibility and inclusion. This role includes demonstrating devices managing device loans delivering training conducting assessments facilitating train-the-trainer sessions and offering technical assistance and consultative services. Services may be offered on both a complimentary and fee-based basis. The position also involves overseeing the equipment loan program. This position is based in Wilmington (New Hanover County) and provides direct service delivery across Wilmington and surrounding counties. The Assistive Technologist collaborates closely with North Carolina Assistive Technology Program(NCATP) staff statewide as well as Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD) counselors and Wilmington office staff to provide comprehensive assistive technology services across 17 counties in Eastern counties.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $39671 - $69426
