About the Opportunity
Opportunity in the global language services and remote interpretation sector serving corporate legal medical and government clients worldwide. We deliver high-quality on-demand interpreting and localization services across video phone and conference platforms. Primary Title: Burmese Language Interpreter (Remote).
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide accurate consecutive and simultaneous interpretation between Burmese and English for remote meetings conferences legal proceedings and medical consultations.
- Deliver sight translation and clear oral summaries of documents and written materials during live sessions.
- Prepare thoroughly for assignments by reviewing source materials building glossaries and confirming terminology with project managers.
- Operate configure and troubleshoot remote simultaneous interpretation (RSI) platforms and video-conference tools; follow platform-specific protocols and etiquette.
- Adhere to confidentiality data protection and client-specific compliance requirements for all assignments and recordings.
- Collaborate with project and localization teams to refine terminology improve session quality and provide post-session feedback.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Professional working proficiency in Burmese (native or equivalent)
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Simultaneous interpreting
- Consecutive interpreting
- Sight translation
- Experience with remote simultaneous interpretation platforms and video-conferencing tools
Preferred
- Professional interpreting certification or accreditation
- Experience in legal or medical interpreting environments
- Familiarity with terminology management or CAT tools for glossary maintenance
