The role
In this role you lead mentor and develop Contracts and Commercial staff within the assigned programs/contracts close coordination with the Program organization you lead contractual and commercial actions for assigned programs/contracts for Defense programs. You provide guidance from beginning to end contractual and commercial planning. This is based on analysis and interpretation of requirements and obligations. You actively contribute to contractual and commercial strategy for program portfolio. You ensure business compliance with statutory and GKN Aerospace governance.
What do you do as a commercial manager at GKN Fokker Aerospace
- Ensure that contractual and commercial governance policies and procedures are adhered to for assigned portfolio throughout contract lifecycle;
- Lead contracts strategy for proposals including contract type conduct terms analysis and risk mitigation including drafting of alternate terms at proposal stage and throughout contract lifecycle;
- Leads negotiations in support of customer proposals inclusive of all applicable commercial and contractual topics;
- Ensure alignment between customer contractual requirements and supplier contracts through completion of prime flow-downs at proposal stage and throughout the contract lifecycle;
- Lead preparation of contractual documents including contracts contract changes letters of intent other agreements such as non-disclosure agreements memorandums of understanding/agreement teaming/strategic agreements licensing agreements and MRO agreements;
- Ensure that compliancy and contracting risk (technical financial contractual) is properly understood and managed in proposal preparation (including terms and conditions);
- You are responsible for initiating and managing order review process and acceptance;
- You are responsible for managing contract changes;
- Ensure all contracts contract amendments and other relevant contractual agreements are properly stored and uploaded in relevant databases;
- Ensure that the most optimal payment plans in compliance with relevant requirements;
- Work with Finance to maximize cash opportunities via contract financing and alternate methods;
- Work with Program Management and Finance to ensure customer debt is properly managed and customer overdue debt minimized;
- Support the claim process for customer claims and Material Litigation reporting and provide guidance on claim settlement and claim negotiation strategy;
- Provide key management information and analysis to make informed business decisions and to help drive business performance improvement particularly cost competitiveness and cash generation;
- Contribute to the development and implementation of contractual and commercial strategies.
What do you need to be succesfull in this role
- HBO degree in relevant domain;
- 5 years experience in Defence and Aerospace;
- Strong and demonstrable knowledge of US DoD contracting;
- 5 years experience working with FAR and DFARS.
