The Systems Engineer II position will be part of a team responsible forserver cloud automation and systems infrastructurein a247environment. Primary duties include but are not limited tomaintainingproduction disaster recovery regionalofficeand cloud environments; supporting existingserverand automation platforms; advancing current technologies; integratingnew solutions; and collaborating with other technical and businessteamsto develop enterpriseready systems architectures.
The candidate must volunteer ideas share technical knowledgeclosely collaborate with other teams andparticipatein cross-training activities. Systems EngineerIIis expected to define and deliver complex IT work products at agreed deadlines and resolve issues professionally efficiently andin accordance withestablished corporate standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
o Analyze business and technical requirements to design implement andmaintainserver and cloud infrastructure solutions acrossAWSVMWareWindows Server and RHEL environments.
o Deploy configure and manage AWS components includingEC2 IAM VPC Security Groups CloudWatch S3 and backup/recovery services.
o Administer patch and troubleshootMicrosoft Windows Serverplatforms including Active Directory Group Policy DNS/DHCPandfile services technologies.
o Administer patch and troubleshootRed Hat Enterprise Linuxsystems includingSELinuxsystemd LVM network services kernel modules and OSlevel security hardening.
o Automate configuration management deployments and server orchestration usingAnsible including the creation and maintenance of playbooks roles inventories and CI/CD pipeline integrations.
o Integrate andutilizeAI-based operational tools(e.g. automated monitoring LLMdriven analysis remediation assistants) to streamline operational efficiency and reduce MTTD/MTTR.
o Configuremaintain and leverageNagiosXIfor infrastructure monitoring alerting health checks and system visibility across Linux Windows and cloud environments.
o Deploy administer andoptimizeVMware virtualizationenvironments includingESXihosts vCenter resource pools templates snapshots virtual networking and general lifecycle management.
o Administer and manageMicrosoft Entraservices including identity lifecycle management conditional access MFA SSO integrations user/device identity security and application identity governance across hybrid environments.
o Configureoperate and manageDell EMC Avamar and Data Domainbackup solutions including backup job creation policy management replication retention configuration restore operations health monitoring and capacity planning for enterprise data protection.
o Support infrastructure within hybrid cloud and multi-region deployments including automation of provisioning and scaling workflows.
o Participate in the design and execution of system lifecycle projects including upgrades migrations cloud adoption initiatives and security enhancements.
o Monitor system healthperformancecapacity across cloud and on-prem environments and execute proactive remediation.
o Develop andmaintainsystem documentation runbooks standards and diagrams for cloud server and automation components.
o Collaborate with network application DevOps and security teams to deliver reliable and scalable enterprise solutions.
o Participate in a rotating on-call schedule forafter-hourscritical support.
Skills / Qualifications
o 5 years of experiencein systems engineering across Linux Windows and cloud environments.
o Handson AWS experiencewith focus on EC2 security groups resilience and access control.
o StrongproficiencywithMicrosoft Windows Server including AD DNS/DHCP Group Policy patching and server virtualization.
o StrongproficiencywithRed Hat Enterprise Linux including system administration tuning and OS security.
o Ansible experiencewith automation of server builds patching configuration management and application deployments.
o Experience integrating or operatingAIbased operational tools AIOps platforms or intelligent monitoring/alerting systems.
o Solid understanding of hybridcloud architecture infrastructure-as-code and modern operational workflows.
o Experience with VMware or other virtualization/hypervisor platforms.
o Experience with Dell EMC Avamar and Data domain system and data backup solutions or other similar enterprise solutions.
o Strong security mindset with experience in patching hardening identity management and access control.
o Excellent analytical debugging and troubleshooting skills.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across teams.
o Ability to organize daily tasks independently and prioritize project work effectively.
