About Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Industrial Relations Manager this specialist role offers the unique opportunity to be a trusted subject matter expert in employment law in a supportive small team.

You will provide IR advice across key projects represent Seqwater before the Fair Work Commission and the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission whilst preparing high quality submissions. You will work with HR business leaders and external lawyers to provide high quality legally compliant outcomes in line with our Values.

A key highlight of this role will be participating as an observer in enterprise bargaining in the first half of the year and lead the coordination and implementation of a new Enterprise Agreement in the second half of the year. If you love employment law but want the right balance of investigations and strategic this role will be rewarding as it gives you the chance to play a pivotal role in shaping workplace outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as Seqwaters representative in external tribunals and manage complex ER cases disputes and support HR on complex investigations.
  • Provide expert specialist advice on employment law and compliance with enterprise agreements.
  • Bring your trusted expertise on the Payroll Modernisation Project focusing on compliance to ensure compliant implementation of employment obligations.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation and proven ability to develop pragmatic solutions.
  • Exceptional influencing skills with the ability to coach and guide stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders or HR and navigating challenging or sensitive situations with professionalism.
  • Commitment to confidentiality integrity and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Experience working closely with Unions would be highly regarded.

As this role is offered on a full time 12 month fixed term basis a very competitive salary plus 12.75% superannuation is on offer to the right candidate.
