Job Summary
The Desktop/Network Support Engineer provides technical support for desktop systems network infrastructure and related hardware/software ensuring smooth IT operations through troubleshooting maintenance and end-user assistance. Key project goals include maintaining system reliability optimizing network performance and ensuring compliance with security and access policies.
Responsibilities
- Install configure and maintain desktops laptops printers and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for end-users.
- Manage OS updates patches and antivirus protection.
- Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN connectivity and network devices (switches routers firewalls).
- Assist in network troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Support VPN Wi-Fi and remote access configurations.
- Respond to helpdesk tickets and resolve issues within SLA.
- Provide technical guidance and training to end-users.
- Manage user accounts permissions and access control in Active Directory.
- Support email systems (e.g. Microsoft Exchange/Office 365).
- Maintain accurate records of incidents resolutions and asset inventory.
- Prepare reports on system performance and support activities.
- Ensure adherence to IT security policies and data protection standards.
- Assist in implementing backup and disaster recovery plans.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or graduate degree in IT or related field.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in desktop/network support or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS MS Office and common applications.
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP DNS DHCP).
- Familiarity with Active Directory Office 365 and remote support tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A or Network certification.
- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
