We are looking for a Junior UX/UI Designer to join our team based in Stellenbosch Western Cape South Africa.

The successful candidate will slot into our team and work alongside client-facing team members and oftentimes clients as well.

Responsibilities:

Establish and innovate user-centered design processes
Champions the UX and UI processes
Ensuring that the designated designs and products of clients are articulated and met.
Advocate for the role of user experience design and research in making more data-driven decisions
Play a leading role in client interactions in order to understand in firsthand their needs and formulate product UX and UI designs
Regularly report out to various leaders and teams in the company about UX programs projects success stories and best practices
Support the continual optimization of product development
Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
Illustrate design ideas using storyboards process flows and sitemap
Design graphic user interface elements like menus tabs and widgets
Create clickthrough prototypes of designs to demonstrate the navigation flow of screens
Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
Create original graphic designs (e.g. images sketches and tables)
Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
Adhere to style standards on fonts colours and images

Requirements

You have a qualification in Design Fine Arts Engineering or a related field
You have 2-3 years prior experience as a UI/UX Designer as well as a portfolio of related projects
You are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator InDesign and Photoshop)
You are proficient in Figma
Comfortable with building platforms such as WIX and Editor X
You pay strong attention to detail and have a keen eye for aesthetics
You have excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate your ideas designs and suggestions
You are a strong team player who can collaborate effectively with different stakeholders
