Description
This contract on-site position presents an opportunity to work within the Medical Practice industry where your expertise will significantly contribute to patient care and clinical outcomes.
As a Nurse Practitioner in Gastroenterology you will play a vital role in diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal disorders collaborating closely with physicians and healthcare staff to deliver high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and histories related to gastrointestinal health
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including lab work and imaging studies
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
- Provide education and counseling to patients regarding gastrointestinal health
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize patient care
- Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records
- Stay updated on advancements in gastroenterology practices and treatments
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the practice
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelors degree preferred
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
- Experience in Gastroenterology or related medical specialty
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are preferred
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p
No call or weekend shifts
Setting: Outpatient
Daily Volume: Up to 16 per day
Patient Population: Adults
No procedures required
Preferred Experience: 3-5 years in a GI clinic
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
