Description

This contract on-site position presents an opportunity to work within the Medical Practice industry where your expertise will significantly contribute to patient care and clinical outcomes.

As a Nurse Practitioner in Gastroenterology you will play a vital role in diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal disorders collaborating closely with physicians and healthcare staff to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and histories related to gastrointestinal health
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including lab work and imaging studies
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
  • Provide education and counseling to patients regarding gastrointestinal health
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize patient care
  • Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records
  • Stay updated on advancements in gastroenterology practices and treatments
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the practice

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelors degree preferred
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
  • Experience in Gastroenterology or related medical specialty
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are preferred

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p

No call or weekend shifts

Setting: Outpatient

Daily Volume: Up to 16 per day

Patient Population: Adults

No procedures required

Preferred Experience: 3-5 years in a GI clinic

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
