Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care in the Emergency Room (ER) and Medical/Surgical units as needed within a critical access hospital. Responsibilities include patient assessment medication administration and collaboration with the healthcare team. The position follows a week-on week-off schedule rotating between day and night shifts monthly.

Responsibilities:

- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the ER and Medical/Surgical units.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (Epic).
- Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide necessary interventions.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- TNCC certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Higher comfort level working with vents/trachs/PICC lines etc.
- Having 2 years of experience in direct patient care.
Special Considerations:

- Must be willing to work weekends.
- Must be willing to float between the ER and Medical/Surgical units.
- The facility provides housing and a rental car/vehicle to travelers during assignment.
- Pets are not allowed in the provided housing.
- Housing units are typically large enough to accommodate only the traveler. Bringing additional family members is not common and needs to be approved by the facility.
- Vehicles for traveler use are provided solely for use around town and should not be taken off-road or outside of 30-mile radius from facility.
- If traveler has time off during their contract they must turn in the vehicle during time off and they will be issued a new vehicle when they return.
Scheduling:
- 3x12-hour shifts per week.
- Week-on week-off schedule.
- Rotates monthly between day and night shifts.
- Workweek typically runs Thursday through Tuesday followed by time off until the next Thursday.
