The purpose of this role is providing leadership in the development and implementation of contracting strategies standards processes systems and plans for a complex capital mega project that will ensure the safe delivery of value maximising investments. It will manage the key internal and external project interfaces assess and manage the risk and build close relationship with our main collaborators BHP commitment to inclusion & diversity and whilst HSE remains a priority will recognise the importance of peoples wellbeing.
Main responsabilities:
Ensures conformance with the BHP Charter the BHP Group Level Documents Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
Provides an overriding commitment to health (including mental health) safety environment responsibility and sustainable development with relentless focus on lowering risk exposure.
Provides leadership for the development of the contracting and procurement strategies in an EPCM and EPC models identifying the interfaces and risks considering the multi-billion dollar project scope; successfully maintains the interface with Supply and Purchasing sub-functions in establishing and executing Project Commercial strategies.
Project key focal point for Contracts Procurement and Supply; applies an understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency drive optimisation and maximise value.
Evaluates risk profiles project drivers and contracting options to inform the development of contracting strategies and contracts in alignment with project execution strategies.
Manages contract execution and analysis to maximise operational and financial performance and mitigate exposure and risk.
Develops safe project delivery and contractor performance strategies to maximise portfolio value and enhance improvement and innovation.
Gains support for and negotiates outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals.
Identifies and assesses risks makes risk informed decisions uses BHPs risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
Identifies engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
Mitigates people environmental and community risks across the value chain in alignment with sustainability and public policy.
Strives to achieve 100% safety 100% customer value and 0% waste.
Engages the capabilities of the entire organization.
Location: Santiago
Relevant tertiary qualifications preferably in an Engineering discipline (s) Construction Management Economics Legal or related discipline; extensive contract management experience; EPCM and EPC contract management experience; 10 years experience in projects; a high degree of business acumen with deep understanding of mega projects execution risks and strategies.
