Junior Data Analyst Finance & Investments

Exciting opportunity in the insurance industry for a detail-driven analyst skilled in Power BI SQL and Python. This hybrid role in Toronto supports performance analytics for private asset investments. Ideal for recent graduates in finance or mathematics with strong Microsoft Excel modeling skills and a desire to grow technical expertise.

What is in it for you:

Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.

Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.

In-office presence required from Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities:

Develop and enhance Power BI report templates to provide actionable insights.

Design and centralize SQL databases to support private markets data.

Automate Power BI report generation processes.

Maintain and deliver existing Power BI reports.

Support testing of Sylvan performance IRR modules and compile test results.

Assist with daily performance data verification and compliance processes.

What you will need to succeed:

University degree in Finance or Mathematics.

CFA candidate or charterholder is an asset.

Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Strong technical proficiency in Power BI SQL and Python.

Solid understanding of SQL databases.

Advanced Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and financial modeling skills.

Knowledge of private asset classes and originated assets including fixed income performance measurement.

Fixed income knowledge is considered a strong plus.

Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams.

Strong communication planning and problem-solving skills.

Automate secret and credential rotation with AWS Secrets Manager and AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store. Enforce encryption at rest using AWS KMS CloudHSM and envelope encryption patterns. Ensure encryption in transit (TLS 1.2/1.3) across internal and public endpoints. Manage key rotation cross-region replication and HSM-based root of trust.
