Job Title: Science Teacher
We are looking for a passionate Science Teacher tojoin our team! The Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and informative science instruction to 5th & 6th-grade students. This role involves creating and implementing lesson plans that align with state and national science standards fostering a love for scientific inquiry and supporting students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
What you will be doing
- Designing and implementing science lessons and units that are age-appropriate engaging and aligned with our curriculum and educational standards
- Teaching core scientific concepts including life science physical science earth science and basic scientific principles through hands-on activities experiments and interactive lessons
- Maintain a positive safe and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and curiosity
- Evaluate student performance through tests quizzes projects and observations; provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students including those with special educational needs.
- Work with other teachers school staff and administrators to ensure a cohesive educational experience and participate in school events and activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in science education and pedagogical techniques.
- Maintain effective communication with students parents and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
What you bring to the table
- Bachelors degree in Elementary Education Science Education or a related field.
- Valid PA teaching certification
- Prior teaching experience particularly in elementary or middle school education is preferred.
- Strong understanding of science concepts and curriculum.
- Practical classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Enthusiasm for science and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment 10 months exempt
- This position is for in-person work at our location
- 179 instructional days 194 work days (new staff members work additional days for induction/orientation)
- In some cases the starting salary may be non-negotiable
- To be eligible to work for Pan American Academy Charter School you must complete and submit background clearances and paperwork before your start date. We can accept clearances that are less than 1 year old from the date a new employee presents them to Human Resources.
