Schedule: Full Time 35 hours/week Monday June 15 - Friday August 14 at least three days working onsite

Position Description
The People Team: Internal Communications Intern will work cross-functionally to support People Team initiatives focused on internal communications and general People (Human Resources) Operations including culture-building and DEIA. The Internal Communications Intern will be tasked with both day-to-day project and administrative support duties for exposure to a range of general internal communications operations including all staff email communications and staff events. The Intern will also own an entire project (detailed below) to be completed during the duration of the internship.

Project Plan
Over the duration of the internship the Internal Communications Intern will continue work on a video-based project: The Meet a Colleague video series. The purpose of this video series is to showcase the work of staff members across the museum and help to strengthen interdepartmental understanding and connection. The project will include:
Building out a project plan for video production
Liaising with People Team and cross-divisional staff to select video subjects
Filming footage of video subjects and b-roll throughout the museum
Editing and finalizing up to 5 videos using Adobe Premiere Pro
Crafting a communications plan to launch the videos to all staff

Educational Objectives
The Internal Communications Intern will gain exposure to hands-on experience with:
Project management using specific tools and software including Asana and Microsoft Office Suite.
Creating developing and updating internal communications shared organizational documents and processes.
General Human Resources Operations within a non-profit arts organization.

Additional Internship Programming
The Summer 2026 Internship will offer 9-weeks of hands-on experience and mentorship along with weekly presentations and discussions with various departments in the museum off-site educational visits within the Bay Area community and access to various tours and events within the museum.

Requirements
Applicants must be currently enrolled in school or a recent graduate ideally with a focus in communications
Human Resource Management People Operations Nonprofit Management Fine Arts or any similar or related
field. The SFMOMA recognizes a graduation date within 6 months of the internship start date as a recent
graduate.
If you are a current employee of the SFMOMA applying for an internship you must be a current student or a recent
graduate within 6 months of the internship start date.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Strong professional writing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality with sensitive issues.
Ability to video edit using Adobe Premiere Pro software
Previous exposure to and/or ability to learn business software tools including (but not limited to) MS Office. Suite
MS Teams Asana SharePoint.
$7000 - $7000 one-time
Pre-tax stipend paid out in a one-lump sum after start date
