Job Summary:
The Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Program Coordinator assumes responsibility for all aspects of the SAFE program including general operations scheduling quality monitoring competency validation and compliance with regulatory standards. This includes the development implementation and evaluation of the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner program recruitment and orientation of applicants. The Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner program coordinator will research and update curriculum ensuring current practice to improve the quality of care received by victims of violent crimes through direct and indirect patient care professional and public education consultation development of standards and protocols interdisciplinary collaboration and research.
Job Duties:
- To establish and implement Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner program policies practice standards and quality measurements in collaboration with the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Medical Director and other key stakeholders.
- Works directly with program administrator and Foundation for program funding and grant opportunities.
- Participates in programs to promote recruitment retention and development of the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner program.
- To establish coordinate and manage Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner education and training; orientation continuing education and clinical competency validation.
- Works within the community to educate on Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner program and violence prevention.
- Provide patient care to included forensic examination and collection of evidence.
- Provides appropriate age-specific patient and family education as it relates to the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Program.
- Responsible for coordinating and maintaining Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner On-Call schedules.
- Maintains knowledge of current clinical concepts and practices.
- Maintains knowledge regulatory standards requirements and assists in facilitation of implementation and compliance to same.
- Provides on-call availability for the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Program.
- Works collaboratively with law enforcement Attorney Generals Office and local victims services.
- Completes Peer Review of Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner cases and leads monthly Peer Review/Case study conference in collaboration with the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Medical Director.
- Works clinically as an Emergency Room Nurse adhering to all competencies and requirements for this portion of their FTE.
- Coordinates and leads staff meetings for Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner.
