Job Summary
Typical Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated C4N/IT Technician support at Assault Craft Unit 4 (ACU4).
- Troubleshoot assess and repair electronic and ancillary equipment used on Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) vehicles.
- Independently manage assigned tasks including Grooming Technical Assistance Repairs and Refurbishments with minimal supervision.
- Configure operate and provide training on the use of system-required test equipment.
- Perform advanced technical tasks in support of engineering activities including setup operation maintenance modification circuit testing calibration and troubleshooting of electronic electromechanical components and systems. These tasks may involve experimental design circuitry prototype models or specialized test equipment.
- Interpret and follow schematics diagrams written instructions and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks.
- Conduct complex engineering tests to gather design data and contribute to general research efforts.
- Diagnose and resolve complex equipment and system malfunctions that are not resolved through standard corrective procedures.
- Assist in the development and improvement of electronic equipment.
- Repair and/or modify cables and equipment returned by operational users or personnel from associated test and development laboratories.
Typical Physical Activity: Repair fabrication and installation activities in engineering lab spaces and shipboard environments. May include: repetitive motion soldering in a ventilated space maneuvering large objects with human/equipment assistance traversing ladders and inclines/declines climbing/crawling/navigating tight/confined shipboard spaces working from kneeling/prone positions frequent standing/kneeling and working in hot workspaces due to sun environment and heat-radiating equipment.
Travel Requirements: This position is anticipated to require up to 20% travel including overseas travel.
Existing SECRET Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing active or interim Secret security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position. An otherwise strongly qualified candidate with highly relevant experience but no current security clearance may be considered.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Associates degree in Electronics Technology Information Technology or a related technical field or relevant military technical training (e.g. Navy Electronics Technician Marine Corps Communications Electronics Technician).
- At least eight (8) years of experience with electronics troubleshooting repair and maintenance of complex electronic and IT systems.
- Including at least three (3) years specifically on naval C4N (Command Control Communications Computers and Networks) systems or LCAC platform systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency with using multimeters oscilloscopes signal generators spectrum analyzers and other advanced electronic test equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex electronic and network issues in a timely manner.
- Experience with US Navy Groom procedures and Technical Assists.
