A Brief OverviewSupervises routine patient food production service and nutritional care employee/visitor/cafeteria meals and catering activities. Provides exceptional care and service to patients guests and employees at all times. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and the Ethical and Religious Directives for healthcare.
What you will do
- Inventories orders receives and stores food ingredients according to HACCP Guidelines.
- Evaluates finished products allowing only quality menu items to be served.
- Maintains knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic diets to train supervise food service workers Diet clerks and/or cooks. Knowledge of when to refer nutritional issues to Dietitians.
- Monitors staff use of food service chemicals for proper dispensing labeling and use for safety and effectiveness.
- Prepares weekly production staff schedule including staff vacations catered events etc.
- Daily counts reconciles and records cafeteria money from cash registers.
- Responsibilities include interviewing hiring developing training and retaining employees; planning assigning and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- ServSafe Certificate - National Restaurant Association
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets food handling and sanitation.
- Previous food service experience in hospital or long-term care.
Preferred Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- High School or GED Equivalent
- Supervisor experience.
