5-Month Fixed-Term Opportunity
As Assistant Asset Accountant you will support the delivery of financial asset accounting services across the University. This role ensures accurate asset-related transactions reporting and reconciliations contributing to sound financial practices and compliance. Youll assist with month-end and year-end processes prepare asset reports and provide support for audits and general accounting activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with asset-related month-end and year-end processes.
- Processing monthly asset journals and accruals.
- Preparing and reconciling asset balances and reports.
- Supporting internal and external audits.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with controls.
- Providing support to Faculties and Service Divisions and contributing to process documentation.

The pay range is $80000-$88000pa depending on experience.
This is a full-time 5 Month fixed-term role (37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday).

You are detail-oriented and organised with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a collaborative approach. You can manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work within deadlines.
What youll bring:
- A BCom or equivalent qualification (or currently studying towards one).
- Ideally working toward CA membership with a professional accounting institute.
- Minimum two years experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role.
- Knowledge of accounting best practice and strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in a large complex organisation and familiarity with PeopleSoft SAP or Oracle is an advantage.
