Job Summary
BEI Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist for our solar division. This position will report to the Safety Manager and will assist in overseeing company-wide safety efforts. The role of Safety Specialist is responsible for the overall administration of safety guidelines and OSHA regulations on the project.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and ensure compliance of company safety policies protocols and plans
- Investigate accidents implement post injury responses and follow-up and adhere to procedures that promote safe working environments
- Conduct safety audits on employees equipment and site materials
- Identify and minimize unsafe working conditions
- Educate employees on risk hazard and injury prevention
- Provide on-site guidance and assistance to personnel at areas with critical health and safety concerns
- Review accident occurrences and make educated recommendations for preventative corrections
- Promote company goals and health/safety objectives
- Identify and adhere to new health and safety regulations
- Act as company representative in dealing with government agencies on health and safety matters
- Evaluate hazardous conditions and assist in development of control practices/programs
- Analyze incident reports to evaluate injury cases based on reported facts
- Coordinate and/or conduct safety training for internal employees and external personnel
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies
- Direct industrial safety and hygiene services
- Track and evaluate applications necessary for site safety permits
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Safety professional in the construction industry
- Ability to drive for occasional project errands; valid driver license required
- Extensive familiarity with OSHA compliance
- Excellent communication organization decision-making and problem-solving skills
