Data Engineering Specialist

AECOM Hunt is looking to grow our Digital Engineering team with the addition of a Data Engineer.  This position will work in our Phoenix AZ office.  

The Data Engineering Specialist will:

• Ensure data is accessible reliable and efficiently processed.
• Combine optimize and manage multiple big data sources.
• Create automated reporting systems.
• Provide software solutions that move data from its source to an internal database such as data warehouse/data lake.
• Implement data frameworks and/or architectures.
• Design develop and maintain data pipelines to enable strong data analysis and reporting
• Utilize a myriad of solutions to ensure problem resolution with data warehousing and data sources.
• Escalate unsolvable problems beyond individual knowledge and scope to senior level employees

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS Computer Science Information Science Data Engineering or related field and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in data programming languages
• Knowledge of data optimization tools data structures and architecting data warehousing solutions
• Knowledge of API (application programming interface) support to allow for data access/gathering/distribution data transformation and ELT (extract load transform)
• Utilization of algorithmic and statistical assessments data processing tools and approaches (including AI) in support of data consumption.
• Strong experience in creating resourceful dashboards which effectively represent data from various data streams such as using Power BI Tableau Looker or similar tools.
• Experience in data engineering BI or analytics development.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and analytical databases.
• Proficiency in Python (or similar scripting language).
• Familiarity with programs such as CMiC Workday Oracle Bridgit Bench SmartRecruiters Blue Beam Navisworks or other construction related software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
