North Chelmsford Healthcare Centre are seeking a caring and proactive receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis to covermaternityleave. The position will commence on 1st February 2026 until 11th December 2026.
This role involves working across both of our Chelmsford sites: North Chelmsford Healthcare Centre and our branch surgery Beaulieu Healthcare Centre.
Working hours will be as follows;
Tuesday:08:00 14:00
Wednesday:12:30 18:30
Thursday:08:00 14:00
Friday:12.30 18:30
Key responsibilities will include;
- Handle patient queries via phone email and in person
- Assist the triage doctor as part of the triage team
- Arrange home visits
- Manage card and cash payments from patients
- Oversee waiting lists and follow-up appointments
- Support clinicians and staff with day-to-day tasks
Training and support will be provided with a comprehensive3-week induction toensure a smooth onboarding.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience offers excellent communication skills and has the following attributes:
- Show empathy and a caring nature toward patients
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration
- Maintain a positive can-do attitude
- Learn quickly and applynewprocesses effectively
- Be confident using computers
- Be fully flexible to cover annual leave and short-notice sick leave
North Chelmsford NHS Healthcare Centre is a SystmOne practice with a growing list size of over 17000 patients. The practice has achieved a Good CQC rating and has an excellent reputation amongst Chelmsford residents. We are part of the Elizabeth Courtauld Partnership and are expanding with a new branch surgery opening in Beaulieu shortly.
