My client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist to join their dynamic residential practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Hotel and Educational projects by bridging the gap between architectural design and construction.
You will be responsible for preparing technical designs ensuring compliance with building regulations and coordinating with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities for this Architectural Technologist role:
- Technical Design and Drafting:
- Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications from conceptual architectural designs.
- Produce construction documents including plans sections elevations and construction details using CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD Revit).
- Building Regulations and Compliance:
- Ensure that designs comply with relevant building regulations safety standards and sustainability requirements.
- Prepare and submit planning applications and building control approvals.
- Coordination and Collaboration:
- Work closely with architects engineers and contractors to ensure design integrity and technical feasibility.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical queries during the construction phase providing on-site support when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills for this Architectural Technologist role:
- Degree or diploma in Architectural Technology Construction or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in architectural technology ideally within the Hotel or Education sectors although this isnt essential
- Strong portfolio demonstrating technical design proficiency in residential projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of residential building codes and regulations including fire safety accessibility and energy efficiency standards.
- Excellent technical drawing and 3D modelling skills.
