Location:Tacoma WA 98421 Job Type:Full-time Exempt (not overtime eligible) 100% Onsite Pay Range:$70000 - $90000 annually monthly car allowance Travel:Some out-of-state and overnight travel may be required Position Summary Aertssen Logistics USA Inc. is expanding operations to Tacoma WA and seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist who enjoys building relationships supporting front-line leaders and being present in the operation. This role is ideal for someone who values collaboration understands the realities of a warehouse environment and wants to make a real impact in a close-knit organization. Reporting to the HR Manager based in Savannah GA the Senior HR Generalist will partner closely with Tacoma operations leadership to provide practical HR guidance ensure compliance and promote a positive respectful workplace culture with a strong emphasis on supporting the warehouse and hourly workforce in Aertssens second US location. The ideal candidate is approachable organized and comfortable balancing policy with common sense. Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Leadership Support - Serve as a trusted HR partner for employees and supervisors across Aertssen locations
- Provide guidance on workplace issues policy interpretation attendance and conduct
- Support performance management coaching conversations corrective actions and investigations
- Promote consistent HR practices while recognizing site-specific operational needs
Recruitment & Onboarding (Warehouse-Heavy Focus) - Support full-cycle recruiting for hourly warehouse roles supervisors and salaried positions
- Coordinate interviews offers background checks drug screens and onboarding requirements
- Lead or support new hire orientation and onboarding
HR Compliance & Administration - Ensure compliance with federal state and local employment laws (FLSA FMLA ADA EEO OSHA state leave laws etc.)
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data across the organization
- Assist with policy updates handbook administration and employee communications
- Process payroll for temporary and regular employees ensuring timely and accurate payroll records
Benefits & Leave Support - Assist employees with benefits enrollment changes and general questions
- Support leave of absence administration including FMLA medical personal and state-specific leaves
- Partner with payroll and benefits vendors to resolve employee issues
Multi-Site HR Support & Projects - Travel between warehouse locations as needed to support employees and leaders
- Assist with HR audits reporting and compliance tracking
- Support safety initiatives and partner with operations on training and engagement efforts
- Participate in HR projects focused on retention consistency and employee experience
All this is always carried out in accordance with our companys quality environmental and health policies. Qualifications Required: - 35 years of progressive HR generalist experience
- Experience supporting hourly and warehouse-based workforces
- Strong knowledge of federal state and local employment laws and HR best practices
- Ability to work comfortably in an operational fast-paced environment
- Strong communication organization and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience in logistics warehousing manufacturing or distribution environments
Preferred: - Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field
- Multi-site multi-state HR support experience
- SHRM-CP PHR or similar HR certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
Compensation - Salary range: $70000 - $90000 annually (exempt not overtime eligible)
