About the Role:

Cohort Staffing is seeking an experienced and confident Disability Support Worker to support a client living with a spinal cord injury. This role suits someone who is proactive engaging and genuinely enjoys building strong respectful relationships with their clients.

You will be providing support to a client who uses a wheelchair and requires assistance with daily living and community access. Shifts include day shifts and sleepovers with ongoing work available for the right candidate.

Essential Experience & Skills:

Proven experience supporting clients who use a wheelchair
Hoisting and manual handling experience
Experience supporting someone with a spinal cord injury
Confidence with personal care
Comfortable supporting clients on community outings
Strong local area knowledge to support outings and activities
Clear confident spoken English and strong communication skills
Enjoys meaningful conversations and building rapport

Required Skills Experience & Qualifications:

Minimum 1 years of disability support experience
Certificate III or IV in Disability/Individual Support (or related qualification)
Strong English and communication skills
Competence in personal care hoists and manual handling
First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Working with Children Check
NDIS Worker Screening Check
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Infection Control training
Availability for day shifts and sleepover shifts
