About the Role:

Cohort Staffing is seeking an experienced and confident Disability Support Worker to support a client living with a spinal cord injury. This role suits someone who is proactive engaging and genuinely enjoys building strong respectful relationships with their clients.

You will be providing support to a client who uses a wheelchair and requires assistance with daily living and community access. Shifts include day shifts and sleepovers with ongoing work available for the right candidate.

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience supporting clients who use a wheelchair
  • Hoisting and manual handling experience
  • Experience supporting someone with a spinal cord injury
  • Confidence with personal care
  • Comfortable supporting clients on community outings
  • Strong local area knowledge to support outings and activities
  • Clear confident spoken English and strong communication skills
  • Enjoys meaningful conversations and building rapport

Required Skills Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 years of disability support experience
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability/Individual Support (or related qualification)
  • Strong English and communication skills
  • Competence in personal care hoists and manual handling
  • First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Infection Control training
  • Availability for day shifts and sleepover shifts
