JOB PURPOSE
The role involves designing and implementing scientific breeding strategies managing field and station trials and collaborating with R&D production and marketing teams to deliver superior-performing varieties that strengthen Dayal Groups seed portfolio and contribute to sustainable agricultural productivity.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Performance Indicators
Farm Management
Oversee all farm operations to ensure effective planning crop cultivation and resource utilization.
Ensure adherence to sustainable and efficient farming practices.
Establish and manage the breeding station and rise the good crop
On-time completion of all farm operations.
Efficient utilization of manpower machinery and inputs.
Inbred Line Development
Develop and maintain sustainable inbred lines through systematic breeding
.
Maintain detailed records of pedigree and genetic traits.
Insuring the germplasm Security and farm
Number of new inbred lines developed annually.
Execution for breeding programs effectively and efficiently .
Accuracy of breeding data documentation.
Germplasm Maintenance
Preserve characterize and maintain germplasm collections.
Ensure traceability and proper storage of genetic materials.
% of germplasm collections maintained and updated.
Germplasm viability and genetic diversity index.
Compliance with documentation and storage standards.
Yield Trials & Breeding Nursery Screening
Plan establish and monitor yield trials and nursery screenings.
Analyze performance data to identify superior genetic materials.
Trail success rate.
Trail mean and CV% (statistical acceptance)

Accuracy and timeliness of data analysis and reporting.
Population Improvement
Initiating crop population for each heterotic group.
Align the population improvement program to need of contemporary and future need Introduce

Seed Production (F1 & Inbred Lines)
Producedrequired seed quality of all the hybrids for trails at different stages
Produce the required quantity of inbred line seeds.
Maintain the genetic purity and integrity of the F1s and Inbred lines .

Supply enough seed for different stage of trailing
Use of Breeding Software and other compliances
Utilize breeding and data management software effectively for planning and analysis.

Accuracy of data entries and reports.
Frequency and efficiency of software usage.

Support Field Supervision for Genetic Purity & Support of Parent seed group
Supervise field activities to ensure genetic purity and isolation standards.
Conduct periodic inspections and maintain detailed records.
Collaborate with the Parent Seed Group to supply genetically pure seeds for commercial lines.
Provide technical and operational support during parent seed multiplication.
Number of field inspections conducted per season.
Deviation rate in genetic purity.
Compliance with inspection and isolation protocols
Timely supply of pure parent seeds.
Genetic purity percentage maintained.
Adherence to production schedules.
Support in Seed Production Technology Standardization
Assist in standardizing and realigning production technologies for new and existing hybrids.
Support technology transfer to production teams and farmers.

Support in Seed Import & Export Facilitation
Coordinate the import and export of seeds as per regulatory norms.
Maintain documentation for phytosanitary and compliance requirements.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Educational Qualifications
MSc. / Phd. - Genetics and Plant Breeding with minimum 7 year experience in Maize Breeding
Relevant and total years of experience and behavioral attributes & Must haves
Strong understanding of plant breeding seed technology and agronomic practices.
Proficiency in breeding data analysis and use of related software.
Knowledge of seed certification purity maintenance and regulatory compliance.
Excellent coordination analytical and documentation skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with R&D production and other teams manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
