About the Team & Business Line:
The purpose of the International Payments & Investigations Analyst role is to efficiently support the team to meet our Payments and Client desk investigation requirements. The position requires the managing and resolving of internal & external stakeholder queries the reconciliation of our multiple nostro accounts and creating/managing investigations with our various correspondent banks. You will also be required to assist the payments team with the timely processing of swift payments.
The completion of these functions should assist in the controlled and smooth running of the department in order to meet the Service level agreement expected by Citcos clients.
Your Role:
Monitor central team mailbox along with personal email inbox and assist to resolve queries.
Process manual single currency and FX payment instructions along with signature verification.
Monitor incoming message types via swift and assigning them to the relevant teams to action.
Assisting the payments team with processing of non-STP swift payments that have hit the repair queue in our core banking application.
Liaise with Treasury Front office for any late payment requests.
Setting up cases with our counterparties for all payment related investigations such as non- receipt of funds and beneficiary claiming non-receipt etc.
Requesting swift amendments for incorrectly formatted payments.
Preparation of Bank reference letters for clients when requested.
Carry out intra-day checks to ensure all daily tasks are completed within designated deadlines.
Processing of journals received from the Finance team.
Preparation of journals related to bank charges.
Periodic review of SOPs and work instructions.
Escalation of any errors to Management in a timely manner as well as assisting with Incident report write up.
Ongoing analysis of teams processes to assist to identify risks and to enhance operational efficiencies.
Ad hoc tasks and projects as they arise.
About You:
2 years Financial Services experience is required. Payments operations and swift an advantage.
Very good attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Experience with creating and managing investigations via phone and email.
Proven ability to work to strict deadlines.
Willingness to take ownership / responsibility for work.
Candidates must be very numerate. Understanding of ledger entries would be an advantage.
Proven multi-tasking capabilities.
IT literate with an intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Word / Access / Outlook
Professional attitude with good communication & interpersonal skills are essential.
An adaptable team player with a proactive approach to problem resolution.
Ability to escalate issues effectively to Supervisors or Management.
A good understanding of Swift message formatting would be an advantage e.g. MT202 MT103 MT199
Temenos T24 Swift or Corona systems experience also would be an advantage.
